I love the energy it gives and the positive vibes it radiates. Unlike other genres, dance music tends to focus on the brighter side of life, keeping things upbeat and inspiring.” Favourite Gig: Faithless at Manchester Apollo “Faithless at Manchester Apollo—two nights in a row—was unforgettable! It must have been around 2008 or 2010. Thirteen top musicians brought 200% energy to the stage. The fusion of live orchestration with solid dance beats was mind-blowing. This time, it’s Jay’s turn to share how music shapes his world. 🎤 Jay’s Favourite Genre: Anything guitar-based! Why: It’s the music he grew up with, inspiring him to learn how to play and sing. Top Gigs: Working: Doing monitors for Doves at Glastonbury's Other Stage. The crowd was massive, and the sound was incredible right from the start. Another standout was mixing FoH for Lamb at Pukkelpop—the last set before sunset, with an electric atmosphere and a powerful sound system. Both were memorable, analogue-console days, requiring Jay to dial in the mix from memory. As a fan: Too many to count! A few highlights include Prince at Main Road in the ’80s, Portishead and Radiohead at Glastonbury in the ’90s, Neil Young at a German festival (watched from behind the monitor console), and Queens of the Stone Age at a NYC theatre from the VIP balcony.
